Lawrence “Larry” J. Gerhart
Lawrence “Larry” J. Gerhart, age 92, of Colby, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 12:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Community Center, 320 Dehne Drive, in Colby, WI. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.
Larry was born April 18, 1926, the son of August and Elda Gerhart in Algoma, WI. Larry enlisted in the U. S. Army and served during World War II. Larry farmed in Manawa, WI, and in Omro, WI. On November 25, 1995, he was united in marriage to Verna Hanke in Wausau, WI.
Larry loved to polka dance, every weekend, him and Verna would dance. Larry also enjoyed reading, cooking, and baking.
Larry is survived by his wife: Verna of Colby; two stepdaughters: Cheryl (Jack) Fenn of Wausau and Karen (Ken) Moe of Rothschild; a brother: John Sims; and a sister: Alverna Post both of Michigan.
