Mary J. Hannum, 90 of Marshfield died peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Gold Horizon Assisted Living in Marshfield.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30am Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield with Fr. Eric Berns officiating.  Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Visitations will be from 4-7pm Monday at Rembs Funeral Home and again on Tuesday at the church until time of services.

Mary was born on September 27, 1924 in Stratford to Joseph and Margaret (Baltus) Kaser.  She attended St. Joseph’s Parochial School  in Stratford and Stratford High School.

She was united in marriage to Troy V. Hannum on November 13, 1943 in Marshfield.  Troy passed away on March 26, 1998.

Mary was the oldest of 12 siblings and had to take care of them when she was 18 because her mother, Margaret died at an early age.  She enjoyed family reunions, traveling, cooking, knitting, gardening, crafts and doing puzzles.  Mary was involved in Our Lady of Peace Church activities and belonged to the Sweet Adeline’s.

She is survived by her children Michael (Mary Lou) Hannum of Marshfield, Carol (Kenneth) Fleisner and Shirley (Ronald) Bores both of Stratford; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  She is further survived by 2 brothers Daniel (Mardell) Kaser of Marshfield and Raymond Kaser of Nekoosa, 3 sisters, Valerie (Richard) Feddick of Forest Lake, MN,  Mae Hoernke  and Marjorie Wilcott both of Marshfield; one sister-in-law June Kaser of Tennessee.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson Mark Knoll,  four brothers, Leonard, Alvin “Bud”, Harold and Eugene Kaser, three sisters, Jeanette Moran, Phyllis Berryhill and Alice Liebel.
