Lavon Knutson

Lavon M. Knutson, 93, Elkhorn and formerly of Hewitt, died on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Holton Manor Nursing Home in Elkhorn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt, where the visitation will be from 10:00 am on Wednesday until service time. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family

Lavon was born on May 14, 1925 to Clarence and Eva (Mahal) Wunrow in the Town of Richfield, Wood County, where she attended Shady Nook School. Being an only child, she stayed on the farm to help her parents. She was united in marriage to John G. Knutson on June 5, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt and they were married for 70 years. He died on December 8, 2012.

After their marriage, the Knutson’s lived on the Wunrow farm until they purchased John’s parents farm in 1949. They moved to the village of Hewitt in September 1996. Lavon and John enjoyed spending 28 winters in Texas. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and farming. Lavon was a loyal supporter of her husbands singing, going to all of his singing engagements.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be designated to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt.
