Leon A. Reckner, 91, Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Country Terrace Assisted Living, Stratford.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, March Rapids, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Philip Wilde will officiate, and burial will take place in the church cemetery. Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Leon was born on July 30, 1926 in the Town of Eau Pleine, to Arthur and Bertha (Meyer) Reckner. He married Joyce P. Paul on May 22, 1948 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan.

Leon lived his entire life in the Town of Eau Pleine where he farmed. He also was employed in construction work while farming and continued after selling the farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, and their children, Ronald (Rita) Reckner of Leavenworth, IN, Dale (Deborah) Reckner of Stillwater, MN, Carol (Gerry) Camp of Friendship, and John (LeAnne) Reckner of Stratford. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister, Leola (Robert) Seelow of Stratford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Jolene Reckner.
