Columbus Catholic baseball sweeps doubleheader at Colby

Tyler Fuerlinger goes 7-for-7 in Dons’ two wins

COLBY — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team swept a doubleheader from Colby at Colby High School on Tuesday, winning 5-2 and 8-2.
Charles Payant and Bailey Keffer each threw complete games to earn victories for the Dons (5-7, 5-6 Cloverbelt East).
Payant struck out seven and walked just one in Game 1, and Keffer also had seven strikeouts and walked three in the nightcap.
Payant also had two hits in each game and two RBIs in the second game as Columbus racked up 21 total hits in the twinbill.
Tyler Fuerlinger went a perfect 7-for-7 at the plate in the two games for Columbus. Keffer added a pair of hits in Game 2.
Columbus returns to action Friday at home against Greenwood.
