Marshfield girls tennis sweeps singles, downs Wausau West

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield swept the four singles matches and rolled on to a 5-2 victory over Wausau West in its Wisconsin Valley Conference girls tennis dual meet opener Monday at Boson Courts.
The match was a make-up from last Thursday’s meet that was rained out.
Lara Prebble, Ashley Schultz, Hanah Gadke and Maggie Schreiner each won in straight sets for the Tigers.
Marshfield’s No. 3 doubles team of Autumn Packard and Krishna Patel also won for the Tigers, needing three sets.
Both the Tigers’ No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams lost in three sets.
Marshfield’s next match is Thursday at Stevens Point.

Doubles: 1. Natalie Herold-Sydney Snoeyenbos (WW) def. Olivia Haessly-Emily Serchen 6-1, 1-6, 6-4; 2. Sarah Snoeyenbos-Kate Peterson (WW) def. Martha Kupfer-Jenny Madden 1-6, 6-3, 6-2; 3. Autumn Packard-Krishna Patel (M) def. Caterina Morice-Miranda Belanger 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-0.
