Gladys L. Hoepner, 93, died on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at Azura Mermory Care in Wausau.

Gladys was born on June 19, 1923 in the Town of McKinley, Rusk County, near Sheldon, Wisconsin, to William and Jennie (Alberts) Hall and was a graduate of Chippewa Falls High School. She married Bernard H. Hoepner on Dec. 12, 1943 in Chippewa Falls. He died on Aug. 23, 1984.

After her marriage, Gladys had moved from Wisconsin to northern Illinois and raised her children in Mundelein, IL. After the death of her husband she lived in Round Lake, IL and then moved to Little Elm, TX and then lived in Marshfield.

She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading and jig saw puzzles.

Gladys is survived by her children, Kathy (Jim) Bove of Stratford, Bonnie Hoepner of San Antonio, TX, and David Hoepner of Mundelein. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Melissa Smith, a grandson, Jimmy Hoepner, a great granddaughter, Alexandra Smith, and a great grandson, Zachariah Smith.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband.

A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of a service at 4 p.m. at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford.  Burial will take place in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lake Zurich, IL.
