Patricia “Patti” R. Ottelien, 80, Marshfield, died on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Rozellville and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held from 9 a.m. on Wednesday until service time at St. John’s Catholic Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Patricia was born on April 13, 1936 in Marshfield, the daughter of Raymond and Veronica (Ashbeck) Beck. She was a 1954 graduate of Columbus High School and also a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Radiology. After her education, Patti was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital Radiology Department. She then became a devoted wife and mother raising six children. She later returned to the work force, working at the Learning Resource Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital until her retirement. She took great pride in assisting and encouraging students pursuing degrees in nursing.

Patti was also very active teaching religious education and assisted as a reader and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Andrew‘s Catholic Church.

She was united in marriage to Clarence A. Ottelien on May 26, 1959 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield. He died on November 21, 2013.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Ottelien of Madison, Jeffrey (Karen) Ottelien of Cottage Grove, Clare (Joseph) Fischer of Marshfield, Steven (Cheryl) Ottelien of Madison, David (Dede) Ottelien of Fitchburg and Tracy (Patrick) Lang of Columbus. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 sisters, JoAnne Nikolay of Marshfield, Sister Judith Beck, SSM of Oshkosh, Lois (Marc Jones) Beck and LeaRae (Dennis) Galarowicz, all of Fitchburg and in-laws, Luella Ottelien, June Ottelien and Jack Serchen.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Patti’s name to St. Andrew’s Catholic Church or St. John’s Catholic Church.
