Columbus Catholic whips Northland Lutheran to advance in WIAA baseball playoffs
Dons play at Loyal in Division 4 regional semifinal Wednesday

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team got off to a slow start but eventually got the bats going and rolled past Northland Lutheran/Wisconsin Valley Lutheran 8-1 in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field.
Kienan McIntee allowed just one hit, struck out 12, and walked two in a complete-game effort to earn the win for the Dons (10-10).
Northland Lutheran (1-12) led 1-0 after scoring a run in the top of the fourth before Columbus Catholic got it going.
The Dons scored six times in the bottom of the fourth, highlighted by a triple from Matthias Gouin and three walks.
Columbus added two more runs in the sixth.
Tyler Fuerlinger and Charles Payant each had two hits for the Dons.
Columbus Catholic will play at Loyal (8-12) in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
