Ruth V. Hetze
Ruth V. Hetze, 96, Plover, formerly of Junction City, died on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 at Maple Ridge of Plover Community Based Residential Facility.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Sherry, with Rev. Mark Lundgren and Rev. Dr. Timothy Roser officiating. Burial will take place in Union Cemetery, Milladore. The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 p.m. on Friday until service time at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Martens / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Ruth was born on Feb. 23, 1920 in New Rome to William and Vinnie (Shenk) Burhite. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Wood County Normal School in Wisconsin Rapids.
She married Robert C. Hetze on Oct. 4, 1943, in Wisconsin Rapids. He died on Feb. 11, 2009. Together they farmed in the Town of Sherry for many years before retiring. She also taught grade school, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School as well as working at a bakery and seasonally at Urban Greenhouse. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and reading books.
She is survived by a 2 sons, Charles (Kay) Hetze of Fairbanks, AK and Paul (JoAnn) Hetze of Wisconsin Rapids. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Frank (Vera) Burhite of Birchwood, Wisconsin and a sister, Hazel Parkinson of Appleton.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, 4 grandchildren, a daughter, Sandra, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
