Spencer boys basketball rips Greenwood

Rockets claw back to .500 mark in Cloverbelt East

SPENCER — Spencer outscored Greenwood by 20 points in the second half to pull away for a 63-38 victory in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets led 27-22 at halftime before blowing the game open with a dominating second half.

Spencer improves to 6-10 overall and 6-6 in the Cloverbelt East. Greenwood drops to 3-11 and 2-9 in the conference.

Spencer shot 53 percent (24 of 45) and held Greenwood to 33 percent (14 of 42) from the floor in the victory.

Jack Bezlyk had 21 points and six rebounds, Noah Zastrow added 16 points, and Collin Nieman had 13 points for the Rockets.

Spencer plays at Loyal on Friday.
