MARSHFIELD — Macey Smith won the vault, and Emma Haugen won both the uneven bars and floor exercise to help the Marshfield gymnastics team to a narrow 129.2-128.25 victory over Antigo in its home and Great Northern Conference regular-season finale on Tuesday night at Marshfield High School.

Smith won the vault with a score of 8.65, and Haugen took first in the uneven bars (9.1) and floor (9.05) for the Tigers.

Haugen was second behind Smith in the vault with a score of 8.6 to finish second in the all-around with a 32.6, 0.15 of a point behind Antigo’s Emma Jensen.

Isabelle Jensen finished second in the balance beam (8.4), Melanie Hafenbredl tied for second in the uneven bars (7.8), and Smith and Ally Bakke tied for second in the floor (8.6) for Marshfield.

“Besides Isabelle on beam tonight, we struggled a lot on beam,” Marshfield coach Allie Dryer said. “This will be our primary focus going into our last meets of the season (conference championships and sectionals). Even with our challenges on beam, the girls had an excellent finish to the night scoring our highest floor score this season.”

The Tigers are now off until the Great Northern Conference Meet at Mosinee on Feb. 18.
