Spencer boys basketball dominates Granton

Rockets now 7-4 in Cloverbelt East

SPENCER — Spencer poured in 53 points by halftime and routed Granton 81-36 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Friday night at Spencer High School.

Spencer dominated all facets of the game, shooting 47 percent (31 of 65) from the field, forcing 23 turnovers, and out-rebounding the Bulldogs 47-31.

Bobby Pilz scored 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting, including 3 of 7 from 3-point range, to lead the Rockets (11-5, 7-4 Cloverbelt East).

Jack Bezlyk added 17 points and 15 rebounds; Ryan Busse scored 13 points; and Noah Zastrow, making his season debut after recovering from an injury suffered in the WIAA Division 5 state football championship game, had 10 points for Spencer.

The Rockets play at Loyal on Monday.
