MARSHFIELD — Stevens Point scored three goals in the first 5:02 of the game and cruised to a 4-0 win over Marshfield in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls soccer game Thursday at Griese Park.

Abby Bohanski scored just 48 seconds into the game, Jamie Clemens added another goal at the 3:57 mark, and Bohanski scored again at 5:02 to put the Panthers (10-1, 8-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference) up 3-0.

Bohanski added her third goal to complete the hat trick 4:59 before halftime. Justice Menge assisted on the final three Stevens Point goals.

“After the initial onslaught, I was very pleased with our play as we only allowed one goal the rest of the way,” Marshfield coach Steve Lindner said. “SPASH is very fast, and they connected passes that led to easy opportunities and goals early on.

“Once we switched to put McKayla Scheuer on Abby Bohanski, she was limited in her opportunities. McKayla did a great job marking Abby, which surely is not an easy task, but performed at a high level.”

The Tigers (5-11-1, 2-6 Wisconsin Valley Conference) were held to two shots on goal, both of which were saved by SPASH goalie Shayna Molski.

Marshfield plays at Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday night.
