Stratford wrestling wins final dual meet of season at Nekoosa/Assumption/Port Edwards

NEKOOSA — The Stratford wrestling team closed out its regular-season dual meet schedule with a 41-24 win over Nekoosa/Assumption/Port Edwards in a nonconference match Thursday night at Nekoosa High School.

Kam Bornbach (182 pounds) and Kyle Martin (170) had pins, and A.J. Schoenfuss had a 17-0 technical fall victory over Brooke Thurber at 106 for the Tigers.

Winning by decision for Stratford were Jeremy Schoenherr at 113, Jordan Becker at 120, Anthony Gliniecki at 126, and Mason Kauffman at 132. Brice Murray (195) and Hunter Kauffman (220) won by forfeit.

Mason Kauffman is now 38-0 this season.

The Tigers will have eight days off to prepare for the WIAA Division 3 regional tournament at Auburndale on Feb. 14.

138: Jamie Sarver (NAPE) pinned Dave Marquardt in 2:24.
145: Keeton Kotek (NAPE) pinned Mark Handrick in 5:59.
152: Trenton Smith (NAPE) def. Kyle Giebel 6-2.
160: Noah Teckham (NAPE) pinned Ethan Young in 1:59.
170: Kyle Martin (S) pinned Naul Segovia in 0:48.
182: Kam Bornbach (S) pinned Dylan Jinkerson in 0:25.
195: Brice Murray (S) won by forfeit.
220: Hunter Kauffman (S) won by forfeit.
285: Casey Smith (NAPE) def. Tyson Kauffman 8-2.
