Spencer wrestling team wins three individual titles, take second at Tomahawk Invite

TOMAHAWK — The Spencer wrestling team won three individual titles and finished second in the team standings at the Tomahawk Hatchet Invitational on Saturday at Tomahawk High School.

Austin Post won the title at 126 pounds for the Rockets with a 14-5 major decision over Liam Clapero of Phillips. Post is now 7-3 this season.

Daniel Wilke improved to 13-2 by winning the 138-pound championship for Spencer. Wilke pinned Hunter Schienebeck of Chequamegon in 1:38.

Freshman Hunter Luepke also grabbed a title for the Rockets, pinning Slade Erdmann of Tomahawk in 3:10 of the 182-pound title match. Luepke improves to 14-1.

Tim Bauer took second place at 132 pounds for the Rockets.

Tomahawk won the team title with 207.5 points with Spencer second at 187.5 points.

Spencer will compete at the River Falls Invitational on Dec. 29.
