STRATFORD — Cole Hoffman tossed a three-hit complete game, and Dylan Peterson drove in both runs as the Stratford baseball team slid past Pittsville 2-1 in a Marawood Conference South Division matchup Friday at the Tiger Stadium Complex.
Peterson drove in Hoffman twice — in the fourth and sixth innings — to provide the Tigers with all they needed.
Hoffman struck out three and walked four to earn the win for Stratford, which improves to 7-6 and 6-4 in the Marawood South. Pittsville drops to 11-5 and 5-4 in the conference.
Stratford plays at first-place Marathon on Monday. Marathon would clinch at least a share of the Marawood South title with a win.
