SPENCER — The Spencer baseball team scored 11 times in the first inning and went on to rout Colby 16-4 in a game shortened to four innings due to rain.
Jonny Tomke had two of Spencer’s seven hits, and the Rockets took advantage of nine walks and four errors by Colby (2-10 overall and Cloverbelt East).
Bobby Pilz earned the win, giving up just two hits on the mound for Spencer (11-3, 10-2 Cloverbelt East).
Spencer hosts Auburndale for a nonconference doubleheader Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
