One dead in town of Auburndale crash

WOOD COUNTY – On Sept. 29, shortly after 6:30 p.m., the Wood County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S, Highway 10 and Day Road in the township of Auburndale.
“Initial investigation determined that a van with five occupants was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 10 when it collided with a truck containing one occupant that was traveling southbound on Day Road,” a department release stated.
“The operator of the truck traveling southbound on Day Road was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two occupants from the van were transported to the Marshfield Medical Center by ambulance with injuries. This crash remains under investigation by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol.”
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department was assisted on scene by the Marshfield Fire Department, Auburndale Fire Department, and Life Link.
No names are being released at this time.
