Traffic rerouted on State Highway 97 after crash causes injuries

MARSHFIELD — The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a multiple vehicle crash on State Highway 97. The following message was posted on the department’s Facebook page:

At approximately 3:18 p.m. on June 6, 2016, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred on State Highway 97 in the area of County Highway C, town of Day. Sheriff’s deputies, officers from the Spencer and Stratford Police Departments, and fire/EMS units from local fire departments responded to the crash scene.

As of this time, no further details regarding the crash will be released since the investigation is ongoing.

Please be advised to avoid traveling through the area of State Highway 97 and County Highway C if possible. Northbound and southbound traffic on State Highway 97 has been rerouted. At this time it is unknown when State Highway 97 will be open for normal traffic flow in that area

We will update this story as more details become available.
