SPENCER — Spencer took advantage of 22 walks to beat Marshfield Columbus Catholic 14-4 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Monday at Spencer High School.

The win is the Rockets’ 10th in a row, and they are now 10-4 overall and 9-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Columbus drops to 1-7 and 0-7 in conference play.

Sadie Mercier and Tiffany Meinders each had two hits, and Meinders and Jenna Schober both had three RBIs for Spencer.

“We had some mistakes on the bases tonight that we will have to clean up,” Spencer coach Jason Gorst said. “A bit shaky on defense too, otherwise it was a pretty good game.”

Sierra Litwaitis had a hit and two RBIs for Columbus.

On Tuesday Columbus plays a doubleheader at Colby, and Spencer will be at Owen-Withee for a twinbill.
