Ten years ago

Deb Welch received the 2007 first quarter ROSE award, announced by the Marshfield YMCA. She had been on the YMCA staff since January 1992 and was a lead teacher and head of Child Watch of the Grant School Pryme Time After School program.

Twenty-five years ago

Two area residents recently won an instant prize of $100 in the Wisconsin lottery with their tickets. Shawn Hana of Medford and Debra Berg of Marshfield would appear on the May 9 Money Game Show of the Wisconsin Lottery.

Fifty years ago

Street department employees Robert Altman and Jerry Baierl were among the people who worked on the 1.2 miles of road in Wildwood Park that circled the reservoir and the new 40-acre animal enclosure. The new road opened to the public this weekend.

Seventy-five years ago

A total of 2,356 people registered on Monday for War Ration Book One, which aimed to assure the fair distribution of the nation’s scarce commodities during wartime. At close on Tuesday, 5,914 Marshfield residents had registered. Mrs. Charles Harlow was one of the first to register at Lincoln School.
