ASHWAUBENON — The Marshfield girls soccer team was shut out for the ninth time this season and lost 2-0 to Ashwaubenon in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal on Thursday.
The Tigers finish the season with a 7-14-1 record.
Andrea Carolfi had nine saves in goal for the Tigers.
Despite the early exit from the playoffs and a tough season, Marshfield coach Steve Lindner said he deems the year a success.
“We had a lot of young players come together and play really well,” Lindner said. “They pick up their game, and the future looks great for Tigers soccer.”
Marshfield loses three seniors — Molly Field, Amanda Feltz, and Charlotte Urban — to graduation.
“I want to commend our three seniors for their leadership and everything that they brought to the the Tigers the last few years,” Lindner said.
Ashwaubenon (12-8-3) will play a regional final against Pulaski or Wausau East on Saturday.
