Chaparrals baseball opens season with pair of victories
Luke Wirtz had five hits in pair of games for Marshfield

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Chaparrals opened their 2015 season with a pair of victories last Saturday at Jack Hackman Field.
Marshfield defeated Greenwood 10-0 and Rock Falls 12-2.
The Chaparrals had a combined 21 hits, and three Marshfield pitchers had a total of 22 strikeouts in the victories.
Luke Wirtz had four RBIs, and Aaron Schwecke struck out 13 in Game 1.
Against Rock Falls Wirth and Justin Rayburn each had three hits, and Ryan Metz earned the win, striking out five in six innings. Cale Cuddie threw three innings of relief, striking out four.
Marshfield hosts Spirit at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
