LOYAL — Macie Weber struck out seven and earned the win with a four-hit shutout as the Spencer softball team defeated Loyal/Granton 7-0 on Tuesday at Loyal High School.

Colleen Arnold and Brooke Kettleborough each had two hits for the Rockets, who took advantage of six walks and three Loyal errors to grab the road win and improve to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division.

Loyal/Granton is now 1-3 overall and in the conference.

“Tonight I thought our defense was our strength,” Spencer coach Jason Gorst said. “Courtney Buss and Lexi Baehr both got dirty to make diving stops at second and first base. Brooke Kettleborough played very well in centerfield as well.”

Spencer plays at Colby on Thursday at 5 p.m.
