Auburndale wrestlers second at Black River Falls Invitational

BLACK RIVER FALLS — Kurt Jankowski won the 195-pound title, and four other Auburndale wrestlers finished second as the Apaches finished second at the Black River Falls Invitational on Saturday at Black River Falls High School.

Jankowski pinned Kolton Schneider of Durand in 4:55 to capture the 195-pound championship for the Apaches.

Readi Meyer (113), Dylan Altmann (126), Aaron Willfahrt (132), and Wyatt Weiler (170) each lost their championship matches to finish second.

The Stratford varsity reserve team also competed in the tournament and finished sixth in the team standings.

Jordan Becker won the 113-pound title for the Tigers, knocking off Meyer with a pin in 1:13. Hector Rojas finished second at 220.

Auburndale is at Pittsville on Thursday. Stratford is off until next Saturday when it wrestles at the Weyauwega-Fremont Invitational.
