Auburndale wrestling team starts season with rout of Marathon

AUBURNDALE — The Auburndale wrestling team opened its season with a resounding 60-24 victory over Marathon in a Marawood Conference dual meet Thursday night at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale won five matches by forfeit and five out of the six matches—all by first-period pins—that were wrestled.
Dylan Altmann pinned Will Hilgendorf in 40 seconds to win the 132-pound match, Aaron Willfahrt pinned Cameron Hamburg in 56 seconds at 138, Kellar Wolfe pinned Richard Hunt in 1:42 at 160 pounds, Wyatt Weiler took care of Joe Sedivy in just 32 seconds at 170, and Kurt Jankowski pinned Jacob Adamski in 1:21 at 195 pounds for Auburndale.
The Apaches will take part in the Black River Falls Invitational on Saturday.
