Winifred T. Kerksieck, age 91, of Marshfield, formerly of Spencer, was peacefully called home to eternal life with her Lord on Saturday morning, December 13, 2025, at her residence at The Aster House in Marshfield, while under the loving and compassionate care of Compassus Hospice.
Winifred was born on February 24, 1934, in Unity, to the late Albert and Ellen (Morrison) Hoffman in their farmhouse. She was a graduate of Unity High School in 1951 and then moved to Milwaukee to work as a secretary for Ice N Cold.
On June 6, 1953, she was united in marriage to Frederick J. Kerksieck, Jr. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer. Together, they shared more than 69 years of devoted marriage, grounded in faith, family, and mutual dedication, until Fred’s passing in 2022.
In 1954, Winnie and Fred began their life together on a farm in Spencer, which they owned until 1969 before transitioning into managing rental properties. Winnie took great pride in restoring and remodeling homes alongside Fred and especially enjoyed decorating for every holiday. She cherished visiting with others and tending to her flower gardens. She and Fred also enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, playing cards with friends, and spending time with loved ones at their cottage in Pittsville.
Winnie is lovingly survived by her children: Robert (Dinah) Kerksieck of Ames, Iowa; Phillip (partner, Tammy Brunette) Kerksieck of Green Bay; and Geralyn (partner, D.J. Marshall) Kuehn of Nekoosa; her daughter‑in‑law, Billee Kerksieck of Granton; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great‑grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Albert and Ellen Hoffman; her beloved husband, Fred; her children, Rodney, Dean, Michael, and Mary; her sister, Dorothy Hoffman; her brother, James Hoffman; and her parents‑in‑law, Frederick and Katheryn Kerksieck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer, with Rev. Nathan Thainase officiating. Burial will follow at West Spencer Cemetery in the Town of Sherman, where Winifred will be laid to rest along with her husband, Frederick, and her brother, James. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church from 10 AM until the time of service, with a lunch to follow after the cemetery service.
