MARSHFIELD – Watch as local area chefs face off in a fast-paced culinary competition to create the best dish out of a “surprise meat” for a panel of judges, as Shirley’s House of Hope (SHOH) hosts its Iron Chef

Guests will taste and evaluate each contender’s appetizer to determine which chef will receive the “2025 People’s Choice Award for Best Appetizer in Marshfield.”

The four chefs who will be competing this year include Chef Rob Arndt from Vila’s Farm to Table Mobile Food Service & Catering, Chef Katie McDaniel from The Hideout, Chef Bryan Rank from KamBray’s Mobile Restaurant and Chef Adam Winer from The Daily Special Food Truck.

Each chef will win one of four awards — “Best Presentation,” “Best Showmanship,” “Most Creative” and “Best Flavor” — but only one chef will win the 2025 People’s Choice Award for Best Appetizer.

This year, the panel of local celebrity judges include Marshfield Fire Department Chief Everett Mueller; Nicolas Kumm, Marshfield Utilities general manager; and Natasha Tompkins, Marshfield District 3 adler.

Shirley’s House of Hope is a Christian non-profit recovery center in Marshfield that exists to aid women and children affected by domestic violence and addiction.

“The proceeds from this fundraiser are essential to continue providing our vital services, as we receive no government funding. Since 2010, over 600 women and children hurting from domestic violence and addictions have been given a safe, nurturing place to heal at SHOH,” an event release stated.

The Shirley’s House of Hope (SHOH) Iron Chef competition will be held Thursday, Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m. at Hotel Marshfield in Marshfield.
