GILMAN — Spencer scored nine runs in the fourth through sixth innings to blow past Gilman 10-1 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Friday at Gilman High School.
The Rockets are now 10-2 overall and 8-0 in the Cloverbelt East after winning their 10th-straight game. Gilman falls to 6-4 and 5-2 in the conference.
Macie Weber struck out seven and allowed just one hit in 6 1/3 innings to earn the win. She also had a single, a double, and scored twice for Spencer.
Cinnamin Harwood and Ellayna Lyon also had two hits each for the Rockets.
“Tonight was a huge win for us as Gilman is one of the better teams we face,” Spencer coach Jason Gorst said. “We were able to get hitting out of different parts of our order and keep their hitting to a minimum.”
Spencer hosts Auburndale and Nekoosa at its home tournament on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
