MARSHFIELD – Former Columbus High School basketball standout Brandon DeSmet is the new boys basketball coach at Loyal High School.  Brandon played for the Dons, 2006-09, on Coach Joe Konieczny’s first three Columbus teams.

He has assisted in the boys basketball program at Stevens Point in recent years.

The Loyal boys basketball team finished 11-13 last season under coach Dean Bogdonovich, who is stepping down after three years as Greyhounds’ coach and a record of 33-37.  Bogdonovich also coached the Greyhounds 1995-2000, and had an overall record of 79-119 in nine seasons at Loyal.
