Marshfield edges out East in 3-point show

WAUSAU – The Marshfield Tigers boys basketball team beat Wausau East in a 3-point shot show on Feb. 13 in Wausau.

The Tigers also only had eight turnovers on the night and led the Lumberjacks at halftime with a 10-point lead of 38-28.

East came back in the second half and the Tigers only outscored them by one, but still pulled off the 78-67 win.

Marshfield’s Anthony Posteluk went high, making four 3-pointers to help score 27 points. Joey Goettl added 17 points with three 3-pointers, Sam Hinson scored 13 and Addison Hill each hit three 3-pointers to add 10 more points for the Tigers.

Wausau East was led by Gabe Krueger, with 21 points scored; Ben Cayley added 18 and Jack Ohrmundt scored 11 for the Lumberjacks.

Marshfield moved to 7-3 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference and Wausau East to 3-7.

The Tigers will travel to Wausau West on Feb. 18 and then to Eau Claire Memorial on Feb. 22.
