Virginia E. Severson

Virginia E. Severson, 94, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Three Oaks Health Center, Marshfield.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am on Thursday until service time. Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery at a later date.

Virginia was born on June 25, 1923 in Loyal, the daughter of Albert and Gertrude (Bolander) Mengel and was a 1941 graduate of Loyal High School. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, war hero, and Battle of the Bulge veteran, Bernard H. “Pat” Severson on July 30, 1946 in Greenwood. He passed on November 21, 1999.

Virginia had been employed as a cashier at various grocery stores, lastly at South Parkway in Marshfield, for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Gerald) Krall of Marshfield and her granddaughter, Kelly (Tim) Kraus, and 2 great grandchildren, Timothy and Madison, all of Marshfield.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a sister, Violet Perkins, a brother, William Mengel and her best friend for 75 years, Dorothy “Dort” Schubert.
