Dons win third game in a row in CWC

By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

MOSINEE — Nadim Torbey struck for a hat trick to lift the Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team to a 3-1 win over Wisconsin Valley Lutheran in a Central Wisconsin Conference match Tuesday.

Torbey scored just 3:03 into the game on an assist from Calvin Brown and then added another at the 33:30 mark.

Wisconsin Valley Lutheran cut the Dons’ lead in half when Wyatt Aslam scored four minutes before halftime, but Torbey provided Columbus with some insurance with a goal at the 67:04 mark on another assist from Brown.

Columbus improves to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the CWC. WVL drops to 2-1 overall and in conference play.

The Dons’ next game is Thursday at Stevens Point Pacelli.
