Tigers improve to 2-0 in WVC

STEVENS POINT — The Marshfield boys tennis team improved to 2-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with a 6-1 victory over Stevens Point on Monday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.
The Tigers swept the three doubles matches in straight sets and also won three of the four singles matches.
Sam Haessly needed three sets to beat Angus Blakeman 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 at No. 3 singles.
Derek Reckner (No. 2) and Braedon Corteen (No. 4) also won singles matches in straight sets.
Marshfield hosts Wausau East at Boson Courts on Thursday, weather permitting.
