Marshfield softball drops extra-inning game at D.C. Everest

Tigers wrap up WVC season with twinbill Thursday

WESTON — D.C. Everest scored a run in the bottom of the 10th inning to edge Marshfield 2-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference softball game Tuesday.

Everest scored once in the second inning, and Megan Donahue hit a home run in the top of the fifth for Marshfield for the game’s only runs until the Evergreens (16-5, 9-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference) won it in the 10th.

Donahue suffered the loss, giving up seven hits and four walks while striking out 11 in 9 2/3 innings.

Donahue had three of the Tigers’ six hits.

Marshfield (11-12, 5-5 WVC) wraps up its Wisconsin Valley Conference season with a home doubleheader against Wausau East on Thursday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds beginning at 4 p.m.
