Marshfield boys tennis wins dual at Rhinelander

Tigers sweep three doubles matches

RHINELANDER — The Marshfield doubles teams swept its three matches as the Tigers toppled Rhinelander 5-2 in a nonconference boys tennis dual meet Tuesday at Rhinelander High School.

Dylan Handrich and Sam Trudeau at No. 1, Austin Christianson and Jared Draxler at No. 2, and Tanner Boson and Tom Kruger at No. 3 each won in straight sets for the Tigers, losing a total of just six games.

Bryce Gadke at No. 1 and Jacob Limmex at No. 2 also posted straight-set wins for Marshfield.

The Tigers return to action Thursday with Wisconsin Valley Conference dual against Wausau East at the Boson Courts at 4 p.m.

Singles: 1. Bryce Gadke (M) def. Logan Wild 6-1, 6-1; 2. Jacob Limmex (M) def. Cody Vinger 6-1, 6-0; 3. Matt O’Melia (RH) def. John Weisenberg 6-2, 6-1; 4. Markus Johnson (RH) def. Tyler Droste 6-4, 7-5.

Doubles: 1. Dylan Handrich-Sam Trudeau (M) def. Felipe Alegria-Jared Fabich 6-1, 6-0; 2. Austin Christianson-Jared Draxler (M) def. Logan Keso-Ryan Kovac 6-1, 6-2; 3. Tanner Boson-Tom Kruger (M) def. Duncan Seidel-Grant Gilbert 6-1, 6-1.
