Marshfield gymnasts edge Antigo

MARSHFIELD — Olivia Tierney won three events and the all-around title to lift the Marshfield gymnastics team to a 129.15-126.45 victory over Antigo in a dual meet Monday night at Marshfield High School.

Tierney won the vault with a score of 9.15, the uneven bars with an 8.175, and the floor exercise with a 9.25 to finish with an all-around score of 34.25 to lead the Tigers. She also finished fourth in the balance beam (7.675).

Megan Smith was second in the balance beam (8.325) and finished third in the all-around with a score of 32.425.

Marshfield will compete at the Antigo Invitational on Saturday.

Uneven bars: 1. Tierney (M) 8.175; 2. Bastle (A) 8.0; 3. Me. Smith (M) 7.95; 4. Kari Kleinschmidt (A) 7.65; 5. Tyler Tatro (A) and Alivia Weix (A) 7.5.

Balance beam: 1. Bastle (A) 8.35; 2. Me. Smith (M) 8.325; 3. Tatro (A) 8.1; 4. Tierney (M) 7.675; 5. Ma. Smith (M) 7.45.

Floor exercise: 1. Tierney (M) 9.25; 2. Bastle (A) 8.5; 3. Emma Boson (M) 8.1; 4. Ma. Smith (M) 7.95; 5. Tatro (A) 7.775.

All-around: 1. Tierney (M) 34.25; 2. Bastle (A) 33.85; 3. Me. Smith (M) 32.425; 4. Tatro (A) 31.825; 5. Ma. Smith (M) 31.45.
