Spencer boys basketball team wins again, girls lose by one at Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD — The Spencer boys basketball team won its sixth-straight game, beating Abbotsford 51-43 in a nonconference matchup during a girls-boys doubleheader Monday night at Abbotsford High School.

Mitch Susa scored 13 points, and Nate Mercier added 10 for the Rockets, who improve to 11-1 this season.

Spencer shot just 40 percent (20 of 50) but had 15 more shot attempts than the Falcons (2-11).

In the girls game, Abbotsford (10-6) held off Spencer 43-42.

Kallie Reckner had 12 points, and Lexi Baehr had 11 rebounds for the Rockets (3-9).

The Spencer girls host Granton on Tuesday, and the boys are off until Thursday when they play at Owen-Withee.
