LOYAL — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team wrapped up an undefeated Cloverbelt Conference East Division championship season with a 3-0 sweep of Loyal on Thursday night at Loyal High School.
The Dons won 25-7, 25-10, 25-7 and finish the Cloverbelt East schedule with a perfect 7-0 record.
“It is so exciting for this team to be conference champions,” Columbus Catholic coach Kat Egle said. “After losing the title to Spencer last year (in a hard-fought 3-2 loss), it feels great. This is a hard-working group of kids. They want to get better. We are now looking forward to the (Cloverbelt) crossover next Thursday and then on to regionals.”
Brooke Neider had 21 assists, five service aces, and six digs; Annie Baierl added 10 digs; and Jessica Jakopin and Kenzie Hansen each had seven kills to lead the way for the Dons.
