Stratford girls basketball first to beat Bangor
Tigers improve to 9-1, play Westby at Bangor on Wednesday

BANGOR — The Stratford girls basketball team held off Bangor 47-40 on Tuesday night to win its opening-round game at the Bangor Holiday Tournament.
The Tigers led 22-14 at halftime and survived for the seven-point win, improving to 9-1 this season and handing Bangor (7-1) its first loss.
Sammy Griesbach had a season-high 19 points for Stratford, making 7 of 13 free throws.
Andie Zuelke added nine points, and Chelsey Gliniecki had eight rebounds for the Tigers.
Stratford will play Westby as the tournament continues Wednesday.
