Loyal/Granton edges Columbus Catholic volleyball
Dons drop to 3-3 in Cloverbelt East

GRANTON — The Columbus Catholic volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision to Loyal/Granton in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division match Thursday night at Granton High School.
The Greyhounds clawed back to take the match 21-25, 25-19, 15-25, 25-22, 15-9 to improve to 4-1 in the Cloverbelt East. Columbus Catholic is now 3-3 in conference matches.
Kendra Baierl had 17 kills, Celine Scholin added 11 kills, Abby Baierl had 21 digs, and Jennifer Reigel had 37 assists to lead the Dons.
“It was an intense match,” Columbus Catholic coach Kat Egle said. “Both teams played really hard. The Dons fought but came up short in the end.”
Columbus Catholic’s final Cloverbelt East match of the season is Oct. 8 at home against Gilman.
