Chamber celebrates 150th with commemorative Marshfield-opoly™ game
For the Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MACCI) will celebrate the rich history that makes Marshfield what it is today through many events – one specific way is with a limited edition commemorative fundraiser, “Marshfield-opoly™. This is an exciting way to celebrate the many businesses who still serve our community today.
Much like today, 150 years ago Marshfield was looking at ways to continue growth and development. Leaders were looking for ways to build strong industries, attract workforce, and encourage families to settle.
Known as a “Hub City,” Marshfield was a great location for transportation, manufacturing, and health care.
Being in a rural area also made Marshfield a great place to develop family farms and dairies.
All of these assets helped form our community into what we know today. Our main industries remain the same thanks to strong business leaders who attracted talented workers.
MACCI continues to recognize that same need today, to develop, recruit and retain the local workforce to keep businesses here for another 150 years. In order to continue to go above and beyond in development of local workforce and talent development, the Marshfield Area Chamber developed this special anniversary keepsake, Marshfield-opoly™ to not only commemorate this 150-year celebration but to provide funding to many of our talent and workforce development programs.
The Marshfield Area Chamber Foundation provides financial support to many programs including but not limited to Youth Apprenticeship, Reality Stores, Crusin’ for Careers, Marshfield Area Career Expo, Heavy Metal Tours, Health Career Connections, and more.
Only 1,500 copies of this special anniversary edition game will be made available. The cost per game is $40. Orders can be placed via phone 715-384-3454, Ext. 100 or email [email protected].
The chamber anticipates the Marshfield-opoly™ game to be available in early 2022. With every game sold, the Marshfield Area Chamber will be donating $1.50 per game to the North Wood County Historical Society.
