Columbus girls go 1-1 on the weekend

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic High School girls basketball team beat Owen-Withee in a Cloverbelt East matchup on Dec. 13.
The Dons took a 25-17 lead into halftime, and outscored Owen-Withee 21-17 in the second half to close out a 46-34 win.
Addison Baierl scored 15 points, Meghan Kibbel scored 10 points, and Annika Brown and Emmalee Jicinsky both added nine points.
The girls were unable to hold on to a first-half lead, as it lost to Pacelli Catholic High School at the Bishop John Paul Showcase in La Crosse on Dec. 14.
The Dons (4-4, 3-1) went into halftime with a 24-21 lead, but Pacelli used a 37-25 advantage in the second half to win 58-49, behind 32 points and 16 rebounds from senior forward Sarah Mueller.
Baierl scored 29 points to lead Columbus, and Jicinsky had eight points.
