Marshfield boys use fast start to beat Holmen

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield High School boys basketball team recorded its first win of the year, as it beat Holmen in a nonconference at home on Dec. 3.

The Tigers (1-1) got out to a double-digit lead in the first half, as they took a 39-22 lead into halftime, and went on to close out a 59-44 win over Holmen in a nonconference game.

Senior guard Anthony Posteluk finished with 18 points and five rebounds, and senior guard Joey Goettl scored 10 points to lead the Tigers.

Marshfield is scheduled to play a nonconference game at 2019 WIAA Division 2 State Semifinalist La Crosse Central on Dec. 6 at 7:15 p.m., before it hosts Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln in its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener Dec. 13. at 7:45 p.m.
