Auburndale boys pull away from Assumption

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – In the Marawood Conference South opener for both teams, the Auburndale High School boys basketball team pulled away in the first half to win at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Dec. 3.

The Apaches (2-0, 1-0) jumped out to take a 40-15 lead into halftime, then outscored Assumption (0-3, 0-1) 35-22 in the second half to win 75-37.

Senior guard Fletcher Raab totaled 16 points and four steals to lead the Apaches, while junior guard Hunter Wright shot 6-of-8 from the field and had 13 points to go along with seven assists and four steals, senior guard Cooper Weinfurter finished with 11 points along with six assists and four steals, and junior guard Kaden Hoffman scored 10 points.

Sophomore forwards Bryson Galbreath and Alec Sullivan each scored 10 points to lead Assumption.
