Volunteers needed for Make a Difference Day
For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Area United Way is recruiting volunteers to participate in National Make a Difference Day, on Oct. 26, 8:30 a.m. – noon. That morning, participants will rake leaves for elderly and disabled Marshfield residents in need of assistance.
Volunteers interested in helping can register at volunteermarshfield.org, send an email to [email protected], or call 715-384-9992.
Volunteers are asked to register in advance so United Way can estimate how many lawns can be raked during the event. Volunteers will gather at Marshfield Area United Way, 106 West 1st Street at rear entrance of United Way office, at 8:30 a.m.
United Way asks that volunteers bring their own rakes and have their own transportation.
Residents in need of assistance with their lawns should call United Way to see if they qualify for assistance and anyone receiving help must be home on the morning of Oct. 26. Residents are responsible for providing enough leaf bags to bag all leaves collected.
