Colby’s Community Care Walk is Oct. 6
For Hub City Times
COLBY – The 18th annual Community Care Walk will be held in Colby on Oct. 6 at the Colby High School track. This year’s theme is “One Can, Two Can, Who Can? You Can!”
Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. at the school. Pledge forms and money need to be turned in before the walk begins at 1 p.m. All money raised stays locally for the C.U.P. Food Pantry in Colby, which is run solely by volunteers. The pantry serves families from Dorchester, Abbotsford, Colby, Unity, and Curtiss.
Last year, 120 walkers participated, with $5035 raised, in addition to the collection of non-perishable goods.
No pets, strollers, wagons, or wheelchairs are permitted on the track surface. Water will be provided during the walk and snacks will be available at no charge afterwards
Pledge sheets are available at Colby churches. Contact Cathy Johnson at 715-223-4196 or Carolyn Golz at 715-654-5533 for more information.
