Stratford volleyball nips Auburndale

AUBURNDALE – The Stratford Tigers volleyball team nipped Auburndale in a close matchup that came down to Game 5, on Oct. 1 at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale and Stratford went back and forth, with Stratford winning the first game 25-18, before the Apaches came back with a 28-26 win. The Tigers retaliated in Game 3, with a 25-21 win, before Auburndale returned with a 25-23 win. In a tight Game 5, the Stratford Tigers came out on top to secure the win, 16-14.
McKenna Krall led Stratford in aces, with four, while Abby Oertel led in assists, with 30. Mikayla Guldan and Kamryn Schueller each had 16 kills.
Madison Krings led Auburndale in aces, with three, and Georgi Schmutzer led in assists, with 32. Katie Helminiak and Natalie Aue each had 14 kills.
