By Kris Leonhardt

MARSHFIELD –Wood County Sergeant John Hiller, Marshfield, will face Wood County Captain Shawn Becker in the November general election for the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.

Hiller defeated Wood County Jail Administrator Theodore Ashbeck, 2657-2547, on the Democratic ticket during the Aug. 14 primary, while Becker took out Wisconsin Rapids Police Lieutenant Joel Flewellen, 5104-2489, on the Republican ticket.

In the Wood County clerk of courts race, 20-year incumbent Cindy Joosten beat Brad Kremer, of Pittsville, 4852-2617, on the Republican ticket. There were no candidates running on the Democratic ticket.

In the coroner’s race, Scott Brehm beat Linda Stankey on the Republican ticket, 3588-3216, while Dara Borre Hamm ran unopposed on the Democratic ticket.

Hiller and Ashbeck will vie for the Wood County sheriff’s seat, and Brehm and Borre Hamm will face off for coroner on Nov. 6.

All election results are unofficial until a full canvassing has been completed.
